Pop Up Club Special, "Best of Rolling S(copi)tones"

For a lot of people, the Rolling Stones is the biggest rock band on earth... far ahead the Beatles, the Who, U2, etc. In fact, they are a little less known for their music videos, rather than their "live" performances, always big & tough.

Here are some of their music videos I do like, the majority concentrated on the 80's and the "music vid fever" times, post 1983. The majority focused on their pop-rock & charts period :

It's true, for the people & fans, that theses videos are among Mick Jagger's ones, often well designed & beautiful. I will propose a videozap on his specific work, later.

Also look at the video zap archives , on the Rolling Stones web site, with dynamic timeline.

Pop Up Club n°3, "Dance we pop!"

Third chapter of my trip in modern pop world, is dedicated to those artists & bands which make the frontiers move. Dance, electro, ambiant... all that sounds have kind of sexual attraction towards pop. Here are some fine results :

The playlist is :

The common link between all of them is this interest in DJ music style, without forgetting sens of fine pop. A perfect mix, opened years ago, by bands like New Order or Pet Shop Boys.

Scoop : the "french affair" resolved by Voici!

Oh my god. I was just alerted on Twitter that a french magazine has found the right answer to "THE" big affair everybody's talking about in Paris (and around the world). I thought I've just found the real cover of Voici, to be released tomorrow... I even posted about on my french media blog...

But a new information received an hour ago by a new source called "micky@scoop.com", send me another proposition... My god, it's impossible. Song writer & singer Benjamin Biolay is in affair with... Toutou! Or Woofy to tell it in english. I can't believe my eyes.

Could it be one of the member of Daft Punk? Of a hollywood dog star? At this point of what will be a long long evening inside french newspapers teams, we simply don't know...

Pop Up Club n°2, "Folk poets of nature"

Here is a new selection of fine pop songs of nowadays. I've found a link between these 5 artists : the guitar with the sound & the vision of nature in pictures, through a rather poetical style.

It's not songs to dance, I agree ;-) But with them, you can close your eyes & take a ticket for cool moments. To cut with the crazy world... So let's appreciate :

I love all these bands, but most especialy the "K of C". I've followed them since 2005, found on a very fine indie web radio, Soma FM. They are some kind of delicate singers & pop makers. Each song is a perfection.

Pop Up Club n°1, "The stylish girls"

Here I'm proud to show you the first chapter of a new adventure, among my online creations & experiences : this is a web-program called "Pop Up Club". It is part of my deep passion for music videos, started around year 1983 when I was teen.

After having recorded lots of videos on VHS tapes, after having visited lots of sites & online videos, I decided to produce my own "selector" show.. cause I didn't find it! It is based on my tastes for indie pop music, stylish videos & design works.

For this first set ever on march 22, I've selected 5 videos of what I call the "stylish girls". I mean artists & bands that have worked on a kind of "new romantics" style & vintage sounds, often soft but not only. There is a real link you can hear between :

Hope you'll envoy that set of 5, and give your feedbacks on it, or even propose other productions you know on that specific style. I would love to share information, critics & pleasure on the music videos thema.

Sheila E, Love (& Hair) Bizarre

Do you remember Sheila E? She was one female among the Prince hare... sorry, crew. She that tried a short but very funky & groovy career, in the shadow of the King...

But in the 80's, she stayed one of the most famous hair cut style ever! For instance, here is under the "Love Bizarre" song, and her "male & heavy spray" hair cut. Fabulous.

Sade on her new stylish music video

Graphism and poetry are the two components for this new song, new album & new music video of the Queen of Soul, Sade. I get it there with a little late, because I've lost the publishing day, after a strange strategy of a 1st video as a simple diaporama...

No way, it is worth the waiting. The video is in a pure Sade style : sober, elegant & strong. Just click on the picture here under, to get the music video : the embedded tool is not active on it on YouTube... Second error of strategy, to me, i f you want to be more viral on your content.
